British alt-rock icons Mallory Knox have officially released “Afterglow”, their brand new single featuring original frontman Mikey Chapman.
Marking their first studio release since original lead vocalist Mikey Chapman rejoined the band, ‘Afterglow’ serves as the opening statement for a forthcoming collection of new material written and recorded over the past year.
Marking a bold new era for the band – now comprised of Chapman alongside core members James Gillett and Dave Rawling – “Afterglow” carries deep personal significance for the band, tracing back to the very moment they decided to reunite.
“Afterglow is the very first song Dave, James and I jammed out after deciding to write again as a band,” shares lead vocalist Mikey. “The song reflects the anticipation, excitement and hope we found in those initial moments as we brought the band back to life. Lyrically, I wanted to embody the mantra that I had been telling myself for some time at that point – that there is life yet to be lived if only you are willing to try. I hope that many will find their own inspiration and hope within the song too.”
‘Afterglow’ encapsulates the raw energy, renewed vigour, and artistic synergy that defined Mallory Knox’s initial rise, while signalling a clear, ambitious path forward.

Mallory Knox are an alternative rock band hailing from Cambridge, England. Known for their high-energy anthems, infectious hooks, and dynamic live performances, the band have established themselves as a powerhouse in the UK rock scene. Returning with original frontman Mikey Chapman, the band embarks on an exciting new chapter defined by a rekindled passion for music and renewed drive.
Across their first three albums, Mallory Knox scored three consecutive UK Top 40 records. Debut album Signals entered the Official Albums Chart at No. 33 in 2013; Asymmetry climbed to No. 16 in 2014; and Wired followed at No. 18 in 2017. Signals and Wired each reached No. 1 on the Official Rock & Metal Albums Chart, while Asymmetry topped the Official Record Store Chart. The band’s crossover extended to singles too: “Ghost in the Mirror” reached No. 85 on the Official Singles Chart and No. 3 on the Rock & Metal Singles Chart, with multiple releases earning BBC Radio 1 playlist support.
That momentum was matched by a formidable live reputation. Mallory Knox have made major-stage appearances at Reading & Leeds, Download and Slam Dunk; performed at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend; and taken their music internationally to Vans Warped Tour and Germany’s Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. Their headline history includes sold-out nights at London’s Electric Ballroom, KOKO and Roundhouse, while high-profile support slots have placed them alongside A Day To Remember, Bring Me The Horizon, One OK Rock and Sleeping With Sirens.
The recognition followed. Mallory Knox appeared on the covers of Kerrang! and Rock Sound, earned a Kerrang! Award nomination for Best British Newcomer in 2013, and saw Asymmetry nominated for Best Album at the 2015 Kerrang! Awards.
Following Chapman’s live return at Slam Dunk 2024, Mallory Knox are stepping back into the spotlight with a renewed sense of purpose, carrying their signature sound into an ambitious next chapter.
