They’re back. Thats right those delightful chaps The Owen Guns return with a new single “Trans Rights are Human Rights” out on all digital platforms Sept 7. All money raised from bandcamp sales goes to Transcend, a charity that helps Trans youth and their families
The song itself is a 60 second blast – straight to the point. Its not hard to choose to be respectful and compassionate to Trans People. Trans Rights are Human Rights.
Of the song, vocalist Sean says “Its time the rest of us stood up and did some of the heavy lifting in defence of Trans folks. Noone in the band is Trans, but we have Trans and Non Binary friends and family. They are our people and we owe it to them to say something given all the bullshit right now about toilets and drag queen libraries. It ain’t that hard to be respectful, it ain’t that hard to try and get peoples pronouns right”
Trans Rights are Human Rights was recorded and mixed by Geoff Mullard at RTN studios in Newcastle, Australia and Mastered by Jason Fuller at Goatsound. It will appear later in the year on the next Owen Guns release “Monks in Sexyland” thanks to Booker/Bastard records.
