RYAN HAMILTON & THE HARLEQUIN GHOSTS release ‘Newcastle Charm’; a tribute to the North East and its capital – a place that has become something of a second home for the Texan star.

A glowing appraisal of a city with ‘a cold exterior and a great big heart’ and of course the people who make it, the track will feature on Hamilton’s highly anticipated new album: ‘Nowhere to Go But Everywhere’.

Formerly married to a Geordie girl, the US singer-songwriter has come to adopt Newcastle as his UK home away from home. Featuring the lyric “howay man, canny and whey aye, American girls can’t even say that right”, Ryan is now looking forward to sharing a little regional slang and ‘Newcastle Charm’ with the rest of the world.

Speaking about the track and his personal affinity with the city, Hamilton says:

“‘I didn’t really know what a “Geordie” was before I met my ex wife. But then I married a girl from Newcastle, and soon became fascinated by the whole “Geordie” thing…”

No stranger to Newcastle’s many music venues and night spots, in celebration of the new single Ryan will be returning in spirit for two very special virtual live gigs in the city. Beaming-in from his home in Texas (where he has constructed a stage especially for these events), Hamilton will be performing exclusive live sets to be shown in two of his old haunts in the Toon: Prohibition Cabaret Bar (on Tues 1st Sept) and  Anarchy Brew Co. (on Friday 4 September). The sets will also be live-streamed on the venue’s Facebook pages.
