The Howlinwood Bowl For Eat The Gun

Hard rockers shoot album number five

Melodic modern alternative hard rocking trio Eat The Gun are set to release their superlative fifth studio album, ‘Howlinwood’, on CD, Digipak (with foldout poster booklet), coloured red vinyl (with printed inner sleeves) and download on August 28th on Steamhammer / SPV. ‘Howlinwood’ contains eleven insanely catchy compositions, including the first single ‘How Does It Feel’, set for release on July 24th, and ‘Electric Life’, featuring guest guitarist John Konesky (Tenacious D / Kyle Gass Band).

The follow-up to 2013’s ‘Stripped To The Bone’ opus, ‘Howlinwood’ was, like its highly acclaimed predecessor, produced by Stephan ‘Gudze’ Hinx (H-Blockx), who helped Eat The Gun completely redefine their sound on the last album. Vocalist / guitarist Hendrik Wipperman states that “‘Stripped To The Bone’ was a liberation for us as a band and completely changed the way we write and record songs, maybe even our entire approach on how to make music. Back then we suddenly realized what kind of music we always wanted to make and this is what the new album is about, taking something that feels good and develop it into something even better.”

Eat The Gun, who formed in 2002, released their debut studio album ‘Cross Your Fingers’ in 2006, followed by ‘Super Pursuit Mode Aggressive Thrash Distortion’ in 2009. The  band’s third album,‘Runner’ was propelled into the top 20 of the American college radio charts in 2011, bringing them to the attention of SPV, who signed them to release 2013’s game changing ‘Stripped To The Bone’ long player. Eat The Gun, who are permanently resident in the German Rock/Alternative radio and DJ charts, have played more than 700 concerts to date, inspiring fans at Open Flair Festival, Summer Breeze, Bochum Total, Taubertal Festival, Big Day Out and Wacken, appearing alongside acts such as Die Toten Hosen, HIM, Danko Jones, Duff McKagan, Donots, Mustasch, Status Quo, Backyard Babies and Hardcore Superstar.
