“hell is a big ‘ol’ whopping leap into songwriting territory that we’re very familiar with, but in a completely new package. This is one of those songs that we didn’t really set out to make, but just came together in a great way. We had plenty of “Aha!” moments during the process, and we ended up with a song that we’ve got a lot of faith in. We’re anticipating that this will satiate our heavy music listeners pretty well.” – Brian Butcher, lead vocalist.
The song’s accompanying animated music video, showcases hints of nostalgia highlighting video games such as Guitar Hero and glimpses of the underworld, honing in on the overall theme of the track.
Hailing from Seattle, Washington The Home Team strives to create an atmosphere of wonderment and originality within their genre of Heavy-pop. “When an album really spoke to me, there was a mystique and a lot of wonder about it that really captured me.” Says lead vocalist Brian Butcher, “There was nothing that could replace it. When I hear someone has listened to our album 100 times, that’s what makes it feel greater than the four of us, that’s what I want The Home Team to be for our listeners.” The Home Team emerges from more traditional pop-punk and metal influences; they have introduced stylings of R&B, pop and funk into their music in an effort to be true to their tastes while crafting their heavy pop sound. The band has gone to great lengths to be creatively genuine with their audience, which has rewarded them many times over with an extremely dedicated and passionate fan base. Having shared stages with bands such as Don Broco, Senses Fail, and Real Friends and taken their captivating show to the UK in December of 2023 supporting The Used they have shown exponential growth. However, the band continues to stay true to their DIY roots when reflecting on touring and much more. “We really focused on DIY touring when we first got started. We booked our own tours for years, when the industry wasn’t interested we said fuck it, we’ll do it ourselves and we’ll keep going until people are interested.” Says Matson about where they originated from. “We may be new to the attention we’re getting, but we’re not new to being a band.” The Home Team has put the importance of who they are and what they want to put out into the world above how others are trying to perceive them. Recently signed to Thriller Records and have released two new singles, “Loud” and “Brag,” The Home Team will continue to set fire to 2024 preparing new music, hear, “Hell,” “Brag” and “Loud” now via Thriller Records. |
