TALE TO TAL

Published:

Tal Wilkenfeld, the Australian-born, LA-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has recorded and toured with several legends including Jeff Beck, Prince, The Allman Bros, Mick Jagger, and Herbie Hancock is set to play a handful of European dates which includes two sets at London’s Ronnie Scotts on November 16th – 6.30 and 10.20 pm  which are now both SOLD OUT – plus shows in Brighton and Hamburg and a solo show on 29th October at Berlin’s PrivatClub. They continue her ‘Love Remains’ tour which has seen her opening for The Who and headline her own North American dates.

Joined by her three-piece band: England’s own Jeremy Stacey on drums & Owen Barry on guitar, as well as Chris Price on keyboards, Tal said “The last time I played Ronnie Scott’s was in 2007 with Jeff Beck. I am eternally grateful to Jeff for taking me under his wing and expediting my growth as a musician, which then set me on the path of exploring singing and songwriting.
It’s been one hell of a road, and will be very meaningful to return to Ronnie Scott’s playing the music I’ve spend all this time working on since that concert. I can only imagine the amount of gratitude (and flashbacks) I’ll be experiencing on stage on November 16th!”

Releasing her debut vocal album ‘Love Remains’ earlier this year via BMG, which debuted at No 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart, Tal has played a whole bunch of live sessions including Paste, iHeart Radio, and Build Series NYC. She also appeared on popular comedians’ podcasts from WTF with Marc Maron to Bill Burr’s Monday Morning Podcast, and more recently on Jimmy Kimmel Live. ‘Love Remains’ was produced by Paul Stacey, and features musicians Blake Mills, Jeremy Stacey, Benmont Tench (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) and Zac Rae (Death Cab For Cutie), along with a songwriting collaboration with Becca Stevens.

The album revealed a new side of Tal prompting Prog Magazine to comment that it “…showcases her distinctive voice and flair for dynamic song-writing. Exec-produced by Jackson Browne, it evokes a dusty outback, its sultry air taut with frustrated love”
