WATCH VISUALISER FOR STRIPPED-BACK COVER OF THE DOORS’ HYACINTH HOUSE – HYACINTH HOUSE (DÉBRANCHÉ) HERE

3rd October 2025: Supergrass have today released a 20th-anniversary edition of their critically acclaimed fifth studio album, ‘Road to Rouen,‘ out now via BMG. Listen/ buy here.

To commemorate its 20th anniversary, this expanded reissue of ‘Road to Rouen’ includes a previously unheard studio track, ‘Don’t Leave Me Alone‘. Listen here. Watch visualiser here.

Alongside the release, the band have released a visualiser for “Hyacinth House (Débranché)”. Supergrass’s stripped-back, unplugged cover of The Doors’ 1971 track Hyacinth House, included on the Road to Rouen 20th-anniversary reissue. Watch visualiser here.

The reissue features unheard live recordings and the entire album has been fully remastered for its 2025 release. It will be available digitally, on a Gatefold 2LP Petrol and Forest Green vinyl with printed inner sleeves and 2CD digisleeve, both physical formats accompanied by a booklet with liner notes written by Mark Radcliffe.

Speaking on the release, Mick Quinn said “‘My favourite Supergrass record (but then officially they’re all my favourites), I really love this one. The extra live stuff is further proof, even on our serious “mature” 5th album, we couldn’t resist having some fun with it.”

Originally launched on 15th August, 2005, Road To Rouen reached #9 on the UK Top 10 chart. Marking a significant shift for the band, showcasing a more reflective and introspective sound with longer, orchestral arrangements.

Praised by critics, ‘Road to Rouen’ received glowing 4 and 5-star reviews from publications such as The Guardian, Mojo, and Uncut. It features the singles ‘Low C,’ ‘Fin,’ and the beloved fan favourite, ‘St. Petersburg.’ Often considered their most personal work, the album departed from Supergrass’s typical upbeat style, embracing a mellow and introspective direction that contributed to its widespread critical success.

Consisting of Gaz Coombes, Mick Quinn, Danny Goffey and Rob Coombes; Supergrass are one of the most important bands to emerge during the 1990s. Formed in Oxford in 1993, their accomplishments include several million record sales, 6 top 10 albums, 10 top 20 singles and accolades from the Brit Awards, Q Awards, NME Awards, and Ivor Novello Awards.
