|NYC hard rockers Spread Eagle are delighted to announce that they will return to the UK tour circuit with the eight date ‘Subway To The Stars’ tour scheduled for September 2023. Tickets will go on sale direct from venues from 10am, Thursday 29 June 2023. The line-up will feature the band’s original vocalist Ray West and bassist Rob De Luca. Rob is also known for his work with UFO, Helmet, Sebastian Bach and more.|
Ray West says, “”Since traveling to the UK in 2017, all I’ve wanted is to go back and celebrate all that is rock n’ roll with those like-minded souls!” Rob De Luca added, “I’ve had some of the best shows of my life in UK and can’t wait for my friends there to experience East Coast Streetmetal and the Spread Eagle monster machine!”
Spread Eagle burst upon the scene playing a brand of rock straight from the gutter. When Paul DiBartolo (guitar) Rob De Luca (bass) and Tommi Gallo (drums) moved to New York City and met up with Ray West (vocals), East Coast Streetmetal was born. While rehearsing/writing in a dingy East Village basement for their first gig, rumours began leaking out to the record industry. Spread Eagle was immediately signed to MCA/Universal Records, then sent straight into the legendary Record Plant studios. Additional tunes for the debut album had to be written while recording was taking place. The self-titled debut was produced by Charlie Gambetta and featured wailing vocals and razor sharp guitar, demonstrated through songs such as ‘Switchblade Serenade’, ‘Scratch Like A Cat’ and ‘Broken City’.
The honesty of Spread Eagle‘s debut release quickly gained the band worldwide critical recognition. That debut album was voted as one of the top 20 glam albums of all time on Uber Rock (along with Guns N Roses, Motley Crue, Hanoi Rocks and Skid Row). Four years later, after the release and touring of their second album ‘Open To The Public’ (also produced by Gambetta), the band took a break and went about their own personal projects.
Spread Eagle reissued their remastered debut album on Lovember Records, in association with Universal Music in 2006, and their latest studio album ‘Subway To The Stars’ on Frontiers Music SRL in August 2019. Spread Eagle‘s current touring line-up includes Ray West, Rob De Luca, and longtime drummer Rik De Luca. The band have well over a million streams on Spotify, and views on YouTube. They toured the UK in 2017 and performed at both the HRH Sleaze Festival and Hull Metal Heaven, and cannot wait to hit the UK again this Autumn.
Spread Eagle have been away for too long, a top quality live band with the songs to match, don’t miss them landing in the UK…
