Alt-punk force majeure SNAYX have announced their highly anticipated debut album, ‘GREED’, set for release on February 19, 2027 via Nettwerk Music Group.
To mark the announcement, the band have unleashed new single ‘Gold Star’, a scathing takedown of performative wealth, obnoxious classism and self-appointed lifestyle gurus who mistake money for personality. Co-written with Jordan Fish (Bring Me The Horizon, Poppy, Architects).

Speaking on the single, SNAYX said:
“It’s about that guy we’ve all seen flashing their cash at the bar and preaching about work ethic. He’s that ‘manosphere’ misogynist screaming about lifestyle and the grind, buying his friends and followers because they’re so inherently unlikable. Well done, you drive a nice car and got a round in, but that doesn’t make you any less insufferable.”
‘Gold Star’ follows a run of singles that have already offered a taste of the album’s breadth. ‘Lost Cause‘ is a dark, seductive electro-rock collision of sexual chaos and emotional implosion, exploring toxic codependency and the vampiric nature of consuming someone emotionally. It followed ‘Nice Day 4 It‘, a euphoric, self-destructive anthem about becoming so accustomed to bad decisions that they start to feel normal, and ‘Strut‘ and ‘Brain Cellz‘ both issue snarling commentary on social media, vanity, generational wealth, nepotism and the relentless pressure to keep up with an aspirational world.
Across its 13 tracks, ‘GREED’ explores the many forms of wanting more: money, power, status, attention, pleasure, possessions, love and everything in between. From extreme wealth and political power to social media addiction, toxic relationships and self-destructive behaviour, SNAYX turn the mirror on society and, indeed, themselves.
In homage to the artists who have shaped them, the album draws on the worlds of Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Gorillaz, The Chemical Brothers and Basement Jaxx, alongside the production approaches of Mura Masa, Kenny Beats and Boy Harsher. Working with Tigercub’s Jamie Hall and Spencer Tobias-Williams of NOISY in the studio, SNAYX threw themselves into experimentation, determined to discover just how far they could push their sound.
“We’ve all just found such joy in those artists, and we wanted to share that but also put our unique SNAYX spin on it,” says Charlie. “We figured it was better to experiment and see what we could get away with than try and play it safe,” adds Lainey.
That willingness to take risks came with its own uncertainties. Charlie admits there were moments when the band questioned whether they were venturing too far from their established sound. Reassurance came from an unlikely source: a 1997 David Bowie interview in which the legendary artist encouraged musicians to push beyond their comfort zone and venture a little out of their depth. It was exactly the encouragement Charlie needed, and a fitting philosophy for a record built on creative exploration.
Finding the balance between organic instrumentation and electronic experimentation became central to GREED’S identity as an album. Bassist Ollie spent countless sleepless nights creating beats and recording rough riffs onto his laptop, carefully ensuring neither element overwhelmed the other. For Charlie, the challenge was shaping this wealth of ideas into a cohesive debut album rather than 13 standalone singles. “I wanted to show real maturity in what we could do. I wanted to be taken more seriously as a songwriter. But there were so many ideas, so many great riffs.”
To bring the music and its ideas together, Charlie retreated to an isolated cottage in the French countryside, where poems and reflections on a rapidly shifting political landscape began to take shape on a battered whiteboard. At its centre was the word GREED – a concept that would connect the album’s exploration of financial, political and romantic excess. Back in Brighton, the band built the album around this central idea, uniting their musical melting-pot with a wider lyrical vision that transforms 13 tracks into a bigger and much more ambitious statement. The result is a record that pushes SNAYX’s sound into bold new territory while retaining the raw energy at the band’s core.
Never a band to make the same record twice, SNAYX push beyond straight-up punk into industrial grind, electro snarl, psychedelic textures and electronic experimentation, while retaining the riffs, hooks and visceral energy that have defined their live shows. ‘GREED’ marks a significant evolution for the Brighton trio, expanding their sonic palette while keeping their confrontational spirit firmly intact. SNAYX have taken their sound, songwriting and social commentary into new territory, asking uncomfortable questions about what we want, what we worship and what we’re prepared to sacrifice to get it.
