‘I Break Free’

‘I Break Free’ is the Rimini trio’s first new music since their acclaimed album Crush On You, released last year.

The song was recorded in Ravenna with musician and producer Teo Rossi (Clever Square, Sunset Radio).

“With Teo Rossi, the spark was immediate,” say the girls. “We met during an amazing event at Mosquito Coast beach in Marina di Ravenna, where Teo immediately asked us to collaborate on a single. He understood our direction, gave us space, energy, and a raw yet fresh sound that we really love.

“This song was created from scratch in Teo’s studio, Seahorse in Ravenna, with no plans, no pressures, just us in the studio, ideas flying and the desire to express something we feel deep inside. It’s about freedom, about telling everybody to go to hell when necessary, and finding the strength to start over from within. A different sound that meets Teo Rossi and the Smalltown Tigers!”

Formed in the Adriatic resort of Rimini in 2019, Smalltown Tigers hit the ground running on a tour with New York’s Baby Shakes followed by a UK tour including a London shows at The Shacklewell Arms and the iconic Hope & Anchor. Releasing their debut mini-album Five Things in the spring of 2020 (garnering BBC airplay from Steve Lamacq, Gideon Coe and The Undertones’ Mickey Bradley) the girls were spotted by The Damned legend Brian James, leading to an invitation to open for the band on their sold-out 2022 reunion dates, as well as playing support on their subsequent European Tour. Releasing their debut full-length Crush On You in February 2024, the band plan to return to the studio in early ’26 to write and record the follow-up.
