SEE YOU

London punks Out Of Love are pleased to reveal the video for their new single ‘See Right Thru’ which is out now via all good digital service providers.

The track is the second to be taken from their recently-announced forthcoming second EP Funny Feeling set for release on 16th April 2021 via Gallows’ label Venn Records.

Commenting on the track, front man Jack Rogers said: “We are all liars, and this song is about seeing through that mask we all wear and seeing someone for who they really are, either for the best or the worst, and accepting them without judgement.”

“This video was a bunch of fun to shoot, it was the first video where we had a narrative to get stuck into and mess around with ‘acting’. All the scenes are supposed to represent seeing through the disguises and egos we build up to make people think we are something we are not, whether that’s hiding how you really feel and bottling up emotions, who you really are when you’re alone, or what’s happening inside your body underneath it all!”

A record about growing up, growing apart, and the struggle of finding out who you are and what you want to be, Funny Feelings charts Rogers’ own war with his mind and mental health, and the way it affects his relationships both with loved ones and himself. Whilst much of the band’s core sound remains unchanged, Rogers is quick to note the increased tempo. “I wouldn’t say the sound has changed too much, but the energy has fully stepped up. Maybe one day we will write a song over 3 minutes,” he laughs.

“I think we capture that energy and ethos of all the hardcore bands we love mixed with the catchy nostalgic hooks we grew up on,” says Rogers, namechecking the likes of Green DayDescendentsSonic Youth, and Nirvana as key influences.

Lead single ‘Play Pretend’ was released earlier this year turning heads at BBC R1Rock SoundUPSETDSCVRD, Radio XKerrang! RadioAmazing Radio and more.

With a grunge-tinged punk sound that fans of Culture AbuseGnarwolvesDrug Church, and Milk Teeth will find plenty to revel in, the band made a huge splash (no pun intended) when they dropped their incredible, and very wet, music video for ‘S.L.U.M.P’ back in February of 2020—the track was picked up by BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio, and soon enough Out Of Love were the band on everyone’s lips, with coverage from Rock Sound, Kerrang! MagazineDSCVRD and more.

Their 2020 debut EP I Am Not Me was released in July 2020 and contained four grunge pop anthems about growing up and finding meaning on this deeply problematic planet we call home.

The Funny Feeling EP is released 16th April 2021 via Venn Records
