Rifftastic Italian metallers ScreaMachine will release their second full-length studio album, ‘Church Of The Scream’, on 12th May via Frontiers. A first single and video from it for the song ‘The Crimson Legacy’ is available from today. This hot new slab of molten metal album is the follow-up to their 2021 self-titled debut but the first to feature guitarist Edoardo Taddei, who was initially introduced on the band’s ‘Borderline’ EP in mid-2022.
Ranked very highly in their home city of Rome, Screamachine were initially inspired by titans such as Judas Priest, Metallica, Iced Earth, Savatage and Accept. Their debut set firmly established them among the cream of current wavers of the trad metal flag, with guest appearances from Steve Di Giorgio (Testament, Death, Iced Earth, Spirits Of Fire), Herbie Langhans (Firewind, Avantasia, Sonic Haven), Simone Mularoni (DGM), Massimiliano Pagliuso (Novembre), Andrea Angelini (Stormlord) and Francesco Mattei (Noveria) a further sign of their undoubted quality.
With the talented shredder Taddei now among their ranks, ‘Church Of The Scream’ further cements the status of the quintet as true metal warriors with an ever-developing sound that nevertheless remains loyal to their roots. Among ten epic new songs are the anthemic opener (and first single) ‘The Crimson Legacy’, a furiously energetic title track and the majestic ‘The Epic of Defeat’ (featuring Davide ‘Damna’ Moras of Elvenking on guest vocals). All will have fans worshipping at the altar in the Church of the Scream.
