Emma Bownes, Senior Vice President of Venue Programming, AEG International, said: “As we celebrate 20 years of The O2, we’re delighted to welcome Carlos Santana to the venue. Few artists have had the global impact and longevity that Santana has achieved. For more than five decades, he has inspired audiences through his unique fusion of rock, blues, jazz and Latin music, creating some of the most memorable and influential music of his generation. He’s a true icon and we’re thrilled that he’ll be part of our anniversary celebrations.”

For more than 50 years, Santana has been one of music’s most pioneering artists, blending Afro-Latin rhythms with blues, rock and jazz to create a sound that transcends genre, culture and generation. A ten-time GRAMMY Award winner and three-time Latin GRAMMY Award winner, he has earned some of the music industry’s highest honours, including induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Kennedy Center Honors and, most recently, The Recording Academy’s 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award.

Since opening in 2007, The O2 has welcomed more than 100 million visitors and hosted over 6,800 events, establishing itself as one of the world’s leading live entertainment destinations and the home of countless iconic performances.

The 20th birthday celebrations will continue throughout 2027, with further artist announcements to be revealed in the coming months. The milestone year follows the recent extension of The O2’s landmark naming rights agreement with O2 until 2038, ensuring one of the UK’s most successful and enduring partnerships will continue into the venue’s third decade.
