The release of Marathon’s debut album is only around the corner. Therefore, the band around Marillion’s keyboard player Mark Kelly invites the fans to join them in a run towards the release of the album on November 27th – literally.
Whether the fans want to run, walk or ride their bikes – every metre counts!
By sharing screenshots of their preferred running app on Facebook and Instagram, the fans can collect kilometres as a team. The intermediate result will be shared on the official Marathon website: https://marathonsounds.com/runningwithmarathon
Whenever the team reaches a landmark, something album-related will be revealed via the official Marathon newsletter. Some very nice surprises are waiting to be unlocked!
Mark Kelly, keyboarder of progressive rock flagship Marillion, had something this in pipeline for over 30 years – the result: a brand-new prog-rock project called “Mark Kelly’s Marathon” which will be released on November 27th.
Together with Guy Vickers, Oliver M. Smith (vocalist), Pete “Woody” Wood (guitar,) John Cordy (guitar), Henry Rogers (drums) and his nephew Conal Kelly (bass), Mark Kelly turned his vision into reality. Marillion bandmate Steve Rothery also joined the band and contributed the lead guitar to the song “Puppets”.
