ROUND THE BENDERS

Rising glitter punks Starbenders sparkle in their latest video for “Coming Up Roses” off their full length album “Love Potions” (out via Sumerian Records). The video reveals the band’s hard rocking side which is reminiscent of the bone crushing fury found in early Guns N’ Roses. What really throws “Coming Up Roses” over the top is a searing lead guitar solo and wickedly raspy vocals from frontwoman Kimi Shelter that has her standing on the shoulders of gods from rock & roll’s most glorious eras. Starbenders bring the swagger and the heat on their latest release.

Speaking on “Coming Up Roses”, Kimi Shelter shares:

“This number is a celebration of our exoneration from the past. Rock n’ roll has given us the answer. Turn the amps up and say fuck it, we’re coming up roses.”

There really isn’t anyone else out there doing what Starbenders have been since forming in 2014: The intoxicating combination of ’70s glitter and ’80s glam with new wave and new romantic, seduced into this new decade by four thrilling musicians and, in frontwoman Kimi Shelter, one of the most exciting songwriters in contemporary rock & roll.

The band is completed by bassist Aaron Lecesne, guitarist Kriss Tokaji and drummer Emily Moon. The band’s latest album, “Love Potions”, sees Starbenders moving in a more adventurous and slightly experimental direction.
