ROUND TABLE

Published:

Liam Cromby, known for his work as the lead singer and songwriter of We Are The Ocean until 2017, has today released another taste of new solo music, with ‘At This Table‘, alongside an official lyric video – available to view here

Commenting on the song, Liam said, “this single is about seeing the good in people, seeing their light shine on the world even when they don’t see it in themselves. ‘At This Table’ finds the healing and sometimes beauty in those often honest and most difficult conversations. I believe it encourages the listener to reflect and to find a love for themselves.”

Taken from a forthcoming project produced by longtime collaborator Peter Miles (The Wandering Hearts, Elles Bailey, Seth Lakeman), ‘At This Table’ – written with Australian songwriter Sue McMillan – follows the release of debut solo single/video ‘Here I Am‘, and ‘Breakdown‘.

Since starting to share new music earlier in the year, Liam has played multiple headline dates including a special hometown show in Leytonstone, as well as appearing at The Great Escape festival and with his full band, The Morning Star, at Black Deer Festival. He also shared the stage with notable US Americana/Country artists Brandy Clark and Drake White for one of the festival’s intimate songwriter sessions.

With more live dates to follow over the next few months, he’s currently gearing up to share the stage with First Time Flyers in Manchester on Friday, September 22nd – limited tickets available here.

ABOUT LIAM CROMBY:
Since Liam Cromby shared the first taste of new solo music in March 2023, with the release of ‘Here I Am’ – produced by longtime collaborator Peter Miles (The Wandering Hearts, Elles Bailey, Seth Lakeman), and accompanied only by a contemplative, artful music video featuring an elaborate dance between two performers – followed by ‘Breakdown’ and ‘At This Table’, this new phase of his career is already off to an impressive start.

Known for his work as the lead singer and songwriter of We Are The Ocean until 2017, he’s already spent years on the road as a touring artist, with the band playing headline shows and festival appearances in the UK, Europe, Australia and the USA; and enjoyed consistent support from national radio and press such as BBC Radio 1, NME and Kerrang.

When Liam found himself in Nashville, Tennessee in 2019, he took the opportunity to start connecting with like-minded musicians and songwriters. More importantly, though, the trip had the side effect of reigniting his love for authentic, honest songwriting. Having grown up in a musical family, listening to classic country artists like Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash, his time in Music City reminded himself of their influence on his own writing, highlighting that the key ingredients of a good song are often the same, regardless of genre or context.

With early airplay from BBC Introducing and CountryLine Radio among others, audiences have already begun to embrace his first steps as a solo artist. Live appearances during 2023 have included The Great Escape festival, sold-out headline shows across the country, and the Black Deer Festival of Americana, where along with a full-band set, he joined Brandy Clark, Drake White, Elles Bailey and Bella White for a Songwriter Session.

More music and live dates are on the way from Liam Cromby later in the year.
