Gitcha Records is excited to present “Do For You,” the third single on the 15-year anniversary re-release for Reed Turchi’s blues album Road Ends in Water—his early showcase of basement recordings with special guest Luther Dickinson of North Mississippi Allstars.
Reed says of the new track, “‘Do For You’ is a good old-fashioned love song about sneaking out and sneaking down to the ever-inspiring bodies of water. I remember, in my Mississippi days, sitting in the passenger seat of a pickup truck, looking out over a valley after a big summer afternoon thunderstorm had rolled through, and as the sun came out the steam rising from all the lush summer green and overgrown kudzu. It was summer at its finest, and the feeling that ultimately led to this song. I grew up in Western North Carolina, a land of many rivers, and my particular neighbor was the Swannanoa River (Cherokee for “pig trail,” if the books have it right), and also a river that was one of the most heavily impacted by Hurricane Helene. Which is to say — there’s always a river out there, in my life, and always a road leading to and along a river, roads built to follow nature’s curves rather than straight-line through or over it.”

Reed Turchi is a Grammy-Winning musician, poet, and producer from Swannanoa, North Carolina, now living in Brooklyn.
Hailed as “Beyond genre constraints” by The Oxford American, and described as “a blast of blues rock…both crafted and improvised” by Rolling Stone, Turchi has performed his slide guitar & signature kudzu boogie sound across the US and Europe since 2010.
