Hotly tipped Londoners are here in April
“This is one of the most fresh and exciting modern rock bands we‘ve produced!” state internationally acclaimed producers John Cornfield(Muse, Oasis, Robert Plant, New Model Army, Supergrass) and Paul Corkett (The Cure, Bjork, Placebo, Nick Cave). Quite the praise, and it’s certainly warranted, as London based trio ‘Paradigm’ have all the attributes to transcend from underground noise makers to big league players. Based on a sound that summons Muse’s raw power and harnesses Nick Cave’s baritone vocals, fenced with Pink Floyd’s artistic approach and the cinematic sense of 30 Seconds to Mars, Paradigm are destined for new heights, and are backed by their new EP ‘Realize’, which officially lands in all stores from Friday 8th April, through Sumind Records.
The early beginnings of the band were formed back in school days when Alex Blake (lead singer, guitarist) and Angel D (drums, backing vocals) exchanged a Nirvana album and instantly became best friends. Hundreds of songs, emotive gigs, defeats, triumphs and heartaches later, the team initiated a new chapter when they joined forces with bass player Giulio (bass, backing vocals) and officially formed Paradigm.
After endless rehearsals and many successful shows, the trio finally headed to the studio. The recording process was split between Modern World Studios and John Cornfield’s home studio in Cornwall. As you would imagine, with Crockett and Cornfield at the helm, the production on the EP is top draw, and the finished record is something special. The EP takes you on an engaging journey that touches many facets of rock, from alternative, grunge, pop, and art to goth. The end result is a weighty state of intent that is clear and cohesive. From the powerful and enthralling beatings of ‘Desire’, to the contagious craft and anthemic pull of ‘Strangers’, the threesome have shaped a record that is sure to take Paradigm forward in 2016.
