Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight today release digital double A side single ‘Three Leaves’ and ‘Green Memories’.
Out on 4/20 Three Leaves is a stoner doom homage to the cult classic movie ‘Friday’ and the song has been a permanent fixture in the band’s live set for several years.
Green Memories is the first new music written and released since the longest serving line up of Pete Holland, Chris West and Dicky King announced they were playing together again in early 2019.
Drummer Chris West comments:
“Originally we were just going to release Three Leaves as a single on its own. We’ve been recording songs for an album and we’re getting down everything we’ve been working on including some songs not set for the album. Green Memories wasn’t going to be on that and once we started working on it, it became one of those songs that grows to be greater than the sum of its parts. The direction of the band’s sound is a touch darker since we started jamming and writing again and we wanted to share something new with fans as soon as we could.”
Three Leaves / Green Memories is available to download now from the band’s Bandcamp as a “name your price” download. It is also available on all streaming and digital platforms.
Bio:
Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight are more than happy throwing doom, stoner rock, blues and even the occasional acoustic song into the mix. Formed in 2006 with 2 full length albums and multiple EPs and singles under their belt the band comprise Pete Holland (Elephant Tree, ex-Stubb) on guitar and vocals, Chris West (ex-Stubb, ex-Landskap) on drums and Dicky King (ex-Olde Crone) on bass.
The early years are a mix of demos, lineup changes and gigs to empty rooms. 2009 brought the mostly stable current trio together and was the year Trippy Wicked self-released their debut album Movin On, putting themselves on the map. Gigs happened. Tours in Europe with the USA’s Stone Axe and Germany’s Wight happened. Playing the first Desertfest happened along with another album in the form of 2012’s Going Home and an EP, 2013’s Underground.
Founding member West split and for a few years was replaced by Bill Jacobs (Gurt, Diesel King). In 2019 Trippy Wicked announced the return of the longest serving lineup and that the band have been jamming, writing and recording together again since then.
