Grime, dubstep, drum and bass and rock and roll; DeadWax have forged a fresh and uniquely UK sound carrying messages about doing your part for the planet, and the importance of maintaining real connections with others close to you, and around the world. New single Double Lives’ just dropped and is the perfect example of just that!

“Double Lives is about how we feel regarding the state of the world recently, the ongoing injustices and the blatant disregard of facts about climate change. This feeling of constant doom about the planet was affecting us daily, but we still want to enjoy our lives and have some fun. The chorus lines came from that sentiment, and played on the idea that we’d have to wear a blindfold in order to forget and ignore what’s going on in the world just to have a good time. While we may not be able to do much about it, there are small steps we can take as individuals to try and make the world a better place, even if it feels meaningless.”

2025 has seen the independent group sell out headline shows from their hometown in Leeds down to London, packing out 100 to 150 capacity clubs up and down the country. During Festival season they dominated stages at Boomtown (Astroid Boys meets DeadWax set), Leeds Fest and Burn It Down before flying out to the Czech Republic for their debut EU show, closing out the Barevna Planeta festival. With a Skindred support slot under their belt and a support tour with BLACKGOLD last month, DeadWax are no strangers to the big stage.
