Salisbury indie rockers CARSICK are pleased to reveal their new single ‘Social Smoker’, released on 3rd June 2026 via Alcopop! Records on all good digital service providers.
A reflective post-party comedown confessional from the ever-rowdy quartet, ‘Social Smoker’ melds the evocative kitchen sink drama of early Arctic Monkeys and the indie-dancefloor chops of The Wombats with the punk venom of Joe Strummer.
Commenting on the track, vocalist Joe Richardson said: “‘Social Smoker’ is a love song. It’s about spending your Saturday nights with somebody who has contagious positive energy and having a good time no matter where you find yourselves.”
The track is the first new material from the band since the release of their second EP Tough Luck last year via Alcopop! Records, with standout singles ‘Backseat’ and ‘Pub Watch’ gaining repeat national airplay from BBC R1, BBC 6music and Radio X.
Opening the year with their own run of UK headline dates, in the first half of 2026 the band have already crossed off support tours with Seahaven and Youth Killed It, a packed set at Takedown Festival, and a riotous Alternative Escape appearance.
CARSICK are now delighted to announce a bumper summer of 2026 UK/EU festival appearances including sets at 2000trees Festival, Greenman Festival, Kendal Calling and more – tickets are on sale now (see below for listings).
Their haywire live shows and no-holds-barred approach to the party lifestyle have garnered the breakneck band both notoriety and an increasingly ardent young fanbase over the past few years, as evidenced by their notably packed out festival appearances up and down the country.
Already marking themselves out as one of the keenest, hardest working new young bands on the indie circuit despite their penchant for a pint, CARSICK aren’t about to pump the brakes on their impressive work ethic or equally impressive dedication to the boozer any time soon.
