MuddiBrooke Announce ‘One Life’: The First Single From Their Forthcoming Debut Album

Derby alt-rock trio MuddiBrooke return on 30 October 2026 with ‘One Life’, the first single from their forthcoming debut album, due in spring 2027.

Born from a sleepless night of overthinking, ‘One Life’ takes the random worries, insecurities and pressures that can occupy your head at 3am and throws them straight back in your face. With a simple, infectious beat and a growing tribal feel, the track builds from internal chaos into something much bigger: a collective reminder that none of us have time to live by everyone else’s rules.

The song’s message of togetherness carries through into its accompanying music video, which features local fans from Derbyshire, members of the MuddiBrooke community known as The Tribe.

The video is planned for release alongside the single on 30 October.

Brooke explains how the song came together:

“‘One Life’ came from one of those nights where I just couldn’t sleep because my brain was going a million miles an hour. I get loads of completely random thoughts all at once – mostly worries about things that, when you actually stop and think about them, really don’t matter at all.

I started writing about that feeling of overthinking everything: how I look, getting older, what people think, whether I’m doing enough… all the stupid little things that can take over your head when you’re lying awake at night. I wanted the song to be a bit tongue-in-cheek with it rather than making it too serious.”

Brooke continues:

“Musically, it’s really simple and has this almost tribal feel to it, and towards the end it grows into this sense of togetherness. That was important to us, because the whole idea behind ‘One Life’ is that we’re all dealing with our own problems, but ultimately we’re in it together. That comes through in the video too, with everyone coming together as a Tribe.

It’s also the first single from our debut album, so we wanted to start the whole thing with a bang. For me, ‘One Life’ is basically a reminder to stop overthinking everything, stop worrying about what everyone else thinks and just get on with living your life; because you only get one.”

‘One Life’ introduces the next chapter for MuddiBrooke, ahead of their debut self-titled album in spring 2027.

The album is produced by Thunder’s Luke Morley and recorded and mixed by Nick Brine, whose credits include Ash, Oasis, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay and The Darkness.
