MIXED UP

Published:

With her latest single, ‘Mixed Signals’, rising star Jessica Lynn steps out of her native territory of Modern Country with sass and confidence aplenty into lively rock and pop with added soul. Like a boss. No wonder that American Songwriter labeled her as “genre-defying”!

“As a native New Yorker,” said the influential magazine, “the artist’s foundational country is heavily laced with rock and blues edges, as well as tinges of pop and soul.” Furthermore, “Artistic Echos” puts Lynn “at the forefront of the new generation of country singer/songwriters but also in the forefront of artists of any genre.”

Increasingly, Jessica’s reach and appeal also stretch afield to rock-loving audiences. Proof of that was seen and heard when Jessica played Ramblin’ Man’s Outlaw Country— her first performance at a Rock festival —where her cover of AC/DC’s ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’ set the whole tent rocking, as did her own songs and stagecraft!

“I have always been heavily inspired by rock and soul music,” said Jessica, with a gleam in her eye, “so I’m really excited that this new single showcases that side of me.  It’s so inspiring to be able to incorporate more of my roots into my new music and dance between and across the lines of many different genres and styles.”

‘Mixed Signals’ opens with a strong guitar hook, tasty keys and punchy, pacy drums, before bringing in Jessica’s deep sassy vocals, and adding lively brass to its rich musical tapestry. The lyrics are fun and clever too, using cocktail imagery to represent mixed signals being given out in flirtation and the back and forward dance of intimacy.

Maintaining a relentless international touring schedule of 14+ countries, along with releasing a pair of Top 40/Top 50 singles on country radio, and three full-length concert television specials airing nationwide in the USA, this New York singer-songwriter has been on an upward trajectory, and is on the way to becoming a household name.

Her upward arc and genre-crossing progress was greatly boosted last year when Jessica released her 13-track debut album, ‘Lone Rider’which hit the top of the charts on its release weekend. On Amazon Music, as the only female and independent artist in the Top 5, Jessica reached the #1 spot in both the USA & UK, as well as #5 all genre in the US and #3 in the UK.

Jessica has also been featured on the covers of the notable Maverick Magazine, Guitar Girl Magazine, American Musical Supply, MNPR Magazine, and Westchester Magazine. She’s also received incredible reviews and features from many of today’s top music and entertainment publications worldwide such as American Songwriter Magazine, CMT, Billboard, All Access, Music Choice, Fox News Nashville Rock & Review, Maverick Magazine, The Morning Hangover, and Music News.
