British alt-rock icons Mallory Knox return with their powerful new single, “The Dog” featuring original frontman Mikey Chapman.
Following their widely celebrated comeback, “The Dog” builds on the momentum of their recent single “Afterglow”, showcasing the renewed artistic synergy between Chapman and core members James Gillett and Dave Rawling.
“When writing ‘The Dog’, I wanted to really explore the duality found in our journeys through life…” notes frontman Mikey. “Ebb and flow are inevitable features of the human experience. You can’t expect the good without the bad, or ease without struggle, for example. It’s very easy to lose sight of this concept, particularly when trying to avoid struggle and pain using vices as means of distraction, or indeed chasing a naive, permanent state of happiness which negates the value of its counterpoint. Ultimately, these attempts to deny the duality through which we all live our lives inevitably bring us back to the need to face the struggle – to find the bravery and humility, responsibility for our own wellbeing, to face the black dog that follows us all. To find ways to make it our friend.”
