Arrival foretold in the runes – a new force rises from the North

LN are a Pagan / Viking metal band from the North-East, carving a powerful and immersive path through the modern metal landscape. Rooted in Norse mythology, witchcraft, medieval lore, and ritualistic storytelling, LN blends crushing modern metal with atmospheric folk elements to create music that feels ancient in spirit yet fiercely contemporary.

Fronted by LN Hirst, whose commanding presence and self-proclaimed witchery forms the heart of the band, LN are rapidly earning a reputation as one of the most vital and forward-moving acts in UK Metal, both for their sound and for the community they are building around it.

Following the unifying battle cry of Shield Wall, a song written for the growing fan base lovingly dubbed as ‘The Peasants’ LN returns with “Fenrir”, the second chapter of the upcoming Völuspá EP Inspired by Norse mythology, Fenrir reimagines the tale of Loki’s son, a wolf,  destined to bring about Ragnarök and the fall of the gods…..LN transforms the myth into an anthem of resilience.

Frontwoman LN Hirst says: One day, I sat down with the inspiration of writing more about Norse mythology and it came to me within about 10 mins. I personally love wolves and the story of Fenrir has always been one of my favourites. It’s about the offspring of the God Loki, who is called Fenrir and he’s a giant wolf that essentially brings upon Ragnorök and the fall of the Aesir and Asgard. This is the second song on the upcoming Völuspá EP alongside our recent release Shield Wall.

LN Hirst adds: I wanted this to be a singalong ear worm that has Peasants longing for better days – which I feel people can relate to in the current climate.

Where Shield Wall stood shoulder to shoulder in solidarity, Fenrir confronts the aftermath…..the fear, the upheaval, and the stubborn refusal to disappear. Designed to be sung back from stages and festival fields, it blends mythological storytelling with a hook primed to set crowds alight. The single also marks the next chapter in LN’s Norse saga, with the three-track Völuspá EP set for release alongside a series of exclusive merchandise pieces arriving in the coming months.

The release also marks the continuation of LN’s partnership with Rock People Management as the band gear up for the next phase of their growth.

LN’s live performances are a high-energy, borderline spiritual experience, transforming ritual into communal catharsis. The wall of death, or Shield Wall, offers fans the opportunity to throw their fists in the air and collide together with blow-up props of shields and swords, with authentic stage costumes, fake blood (and even their unofficial mascot ‘Donnie’ the Draugr’s head impaled on a stick) cementing LN’s status as one of the UK rock and metal scene’s most exciting new live bands.
