British alt-rock favourites ‘A’ are proud to announce the release of a very special, limited-edition PRANG “Unplugged” bootleg-style CD, created in collaboration with Music Minds Matter. With £1 from every CD sold going directly to the charity, the release is both a unique collector’s item and a meaningful contribution to mental health support within the music industry.

Each CD will be individually hand-stamped by the band, making every copy truly one-of-a-kind. Alongside the raw, stripped-back aesthetic, the release will feature three exclusive acoustic bonus tracks, offering fans an intimate new perspective on PRANG.

This special release arrives alongside the band’s long-awaited new studio album PRANG, out May 22, 2026 via Cooking Vinyl – their first in over 20 years.

Following the effervescent lead singles “Hello Sunshine” and “Walkover,” ‘A’ reveal a more vulnerable side with their latest single, “Shit Summer.” A deeply personal and emotionally raw track, it captures a moment of struggle with striking honesty.

As vocalist Jason Perry explains: “‘Shit Summer’ is the song from the album that I’m most proud of. I think it’s the best thing we’ve ever made. Ever. A heartbreaking reminder of a very difficult time for me. I had tears in my eyes singing this song… I got help. I needed help. We all need a little help sometimes… This song is dedicated to anyone who’s going through it.”

SUPPORTING MUSIC MINDS MATTER

Music touches us like nothing else on earth. It lifts us, consoles us, breaks our hearts, then heals them, makes us laugh, love, cry, and feel things more intensely. That’s pretty special. But making it all happen is challenging.

Work in the music industry is often on a freelance basis with no HR support. Pay is unreliable. Conditions inconsistent. Hours-long and unpredictable. Practically, psychologically and emotionally, this takes its toll. Our availability and support make a significant difference. From studio assistants and artist managers to music therapists and lighting designers, every music person’s mental well-being matters. When they thrive, music thrives. That’s why it’s important. For all of us.

At Music Minds Matter, we aim to make a positive difference to the mental health of everyone in music. We do this through connecting people in music to the information and support they need to take care of themselves and each other, building a shared understanding of mental health in music to enable people to get the right help early and fostering thriving teams and workspaces which promote the mental well-being of their people. One in three people working in music struggle with their mental health. That is too many.

Music Minds Matter cannot deliver its life-changing work without your valuable support. Donate today to help us reach more people working in music who need our help.

ABOUT PRANG

Set for release May 22, 2026, PRANG marks a bold return for ‘A’, capturing the carefree spirit and stylish sloppiness that defined their early years while embracing a more reflective, lived-in perspective. Written and recorded with a DIY ethos, the album balances punchy anthems with heartfelt moments, exploring themes of resilience, friendship and mental health.

Twenty years in the making, PRANG is more than a comeback – it’s a rebirth.
