Rising UK blues-rock outfit Lightning Threads step forward with their highly anticipated sophomore album Trinkets, a bold and uncompromising collection that captures the band at their most reflective.

From their 2023 debut record, Off That Lonely Road, the new album Trinkets feels bigger, bolder, and there’s a lot more confidence in the sound. The new record is formed around a simple but striking idea: the things we pick up along the way shape who we become: some protect us, some weigh us down. Featuring previously released singles “Rags & Riches,” & “What A Fever Does”, each track contributes to a wider narrative; the band explain:

“‘Trinkets’ is about everything you carry with you – the good, the bad, and the stuff you don’t really want to reckon with. We wanted it to feel like a collection of moments. Life isn’t tidy, it’s bits and pieces, and the question running through the whole record is: what do you hold onto, what do you let go, and are you satisfied?”

The album release also brings new focus single, ‘Wild One’into the limelightA blues-soaked tale that fuses restless pulse with emotional bite, set against late-night streets and half-lit encounters, the band comment: “‘Wild One’ is about that moment when you’re drawn to someone because they feel exciting and chaotic — and then you realise you’re seeing parts of yourself in them. It’s attraction, but it’s also confrontation.”

Known for their powerful live performances, Lightning Threads bring the same intensity and authenticity to Trinkets. The record captures the spirit of their shows, cementing their place as one of the most exciting emerging acts on the UK’s independent music scene.
