After starting their second European tour since lockdown last night in Stockholm, The Datsuns have released a killer new single called “Ugly Leather”.
After a few years in exile in various corners of the world (Sweden, New Zealand, Japan) THE DATSUNS made their long awaited return to the live stage in 2022.
Throwing off the COVID induced hibernation resulted in a wild flurry of shows and new experiments in the studio.
UGLY LEATHER, the first offering from these recordings, is as classic a DATSUNS offering as you could ask for.
Fuzz laden single note riffs roll over a high energy beat (courtesy of HELLACOPTERS drummer Robert Eriksson, who guests on the recording), an urgent and immediate melody and screaming lead guitar.
Lyrically UGLY LEATHER concerns the internal and external pressures in the mundane daily grind. How the small and seemingly unimportant can mutate and manifest into the monstrous.
