LAST LOOK AT EDEN

Published:

Denver, Colorado based Isadora Eden is pleased to reveal the video for her new single ‘Mirror’, which is released on 30th June 2023.

The track is the final single to be taken from her forthcoming debut album forget what makes it glow, set for release on 14th July 2023.

Commenting on the track, Eden says: “‘Mirror’ is about how you can do a lot of things and change a lot about yourself, but you’re still you after all of it and have to accept that. For better or worse, there are parts of yourself you can’t really get rid of. This is one of the more sunny, upbeat songs on the record.”

“‘Mirror’ started as a different song with slightly different chords and lyrics—we loved parts of it but it wasn’t really coming together. We played through and reworked the original song into this new one together, and love how it came out—especially the super warm intro acoustic line, The Cure-inspired chimes and the Tom Petty-esque chorus chords. The intro voice memo is Sumner (Erhard, drums) falling down a hill on the beach while visiting my family in Massachusetts.”

The single comes with an official video that Eden describes as  “a campy horror short”, directed by Michael Everett. “I love the zombie-snap on the ‘wanna be cool but I care what you think’ lyric, the explosion scene (shot on our TV table!), and just the general silliness and fun of this one,” she says of the visuals.

‘Mirror’ follows on from early singles ‘Haunted’, ‘Still’ and ‘bloodymary’, which picked up support from UK tastemakers DIY, Noizze, Analogue Trash, Colorising and more, and saw Eden land on Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist.

Recorded, produced and mixed by Corey Coffman (Gleemer, Soft Blue Shimmer, Modern Colour) in Loveland, CO and mastered by Edsel Holden (Hovvdy, Katy Kirby), debut album forget what makes it glow also features bandmate Sumner Erhard on drums, percussion, and bass.

Eden will be playing a run of select US headline shows this July 2023 to celebrate the release, with tickets on sale now (see below for listings).
