Texas country-soul powerhouse Josh Weathers has announced the release of his new EP, Music City Sessions, arriving October 30 via Thirty Tigers. Pre-save here. The announcement comes alongside the release of Weathers’ new single, ‘For The Rest Of Our Lives’, available to stream and download here.
Speaking about Music City Sessions, Weathers says: “Music City Sessions was created with my dear friend Justin Weaver and myself in a tiny room at Curb Studios in Nashville. He and I wanted to make something that was lean on instrumentation and heavy on vocals. We wanted to make something that felt like the old school country records we love.”
The new single, written by Weathers alongside Chris DuBois and Wyatt McCubbin, continues that stripped-back, timeless approach.
“Something about it seemed retro but fresh at the same time. It’s made for dancing in your kitchen. I’m happy this song found a home here on the Music City Sessions.”
Music City Sessions follows the release of Niles City Sessions last month, which was recorded live to tape at the renowned Niles City Sound in Fort Worth, Texas. The project captured the raw energy and chemistry of Weathers and his band, showcasing the powerhouse vocals and live intensity that have earned him a devoted following across the country music circuit.
The release arrived during a landmark month for Weathers, who made his Grand Ole Opry debut on August 15, taking to the legendary stage just one day after the release of Niles City Sessions.
Now, Weathers is set to bring his electrifying live show to the UK and Ireland this November, joining Drake Milligan as a special guest across seven dates. Dates below.
