Written by Ross alongside frequent collaborators Matt Geroux, Mason Thronley, Joe Fox and Brad Rempel and produced by Matt Geroux in Nashville, “Kicked Out Of Bars” finds Ross leaning into the high-energy sound that has become a hallmark of his live shows.
After teasing the song on socials, Ross shares, “‘Kicked Out Of Bars’ felt like me from the minute we wrote it. It’s one of those songs almost everyone can relate to, whether you’ve been the one getting kicked out or you’ve got a buddy who has. I wanted to give fans something fun and upbeat to close out the summer. We’ve been playing it live and seeing everyone already singing along has been pretty incredible. I’m excited for fans to finally have it.”
Now surpassing 1.5 billion global streams, Ross enters this next chapter following the success of “Single Again” and “Hate How You Look”, both of which reached No. 1 at Canadian and US Country radio. The back-to-back chart toppers made Ross the first solo male Canadian country artist to earn consecutive US Country Radio No.1’s in nearly 50 years, further cementing his place as one of country music’s most exciting rising voices.
As co-lead nominee with seven 2026 CCMA Award nominations, and previous wins, including ‘Entertainer of the Year’ and ‘Male Artist of the Year’, Ross is taking the momentum on the road throughout the remainder of 2026.
Following a summer packed with festival appearances across Canada and the US, Ross heads overseas for a run of UK headline dates, with Darius Rucker giving “Kicked Out Of Bars” its first Spin on BBC Radio 2 ahead of the shows.
Ross will also join the likes of Ronnie Wood, Emmylou Harris, The Shires and his personal hero, Steve Earle, in playing the main stage at The Long Road Festival in Leicestershire at the end of August.
