JACK’S KILLING IT

Jack J Hutchinson is unleashing a special new studio recording ‘What Doesn’t Kill You‘ being a 4 track EP mixed by legendary producer, Kevin Shirley. The collection follows his critically acclaimed album ‘The Hammer Falls‘ which was released earlier this year. It includes new versions of three of the tracks from its predecessor, plus the brand new full-tilt rocker ‘Days Of Thunder‘ and is available for pre-order now via Eyesore Merch.

Hutchinson enthusiastically comments, “To be given the opportunity to work with Kevin Shirley was a dream come true. He’s produced some of my favourite artists, including Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden and The Black Crowes, so I jumped at the chance!” Laughs the UK based hard blues rock/singer/guitarist, “We recorded the new song in the midst of my recent UK Tour, so me and the band were cooking from being back on the road. Kevin gave the tracks a new sense of energy and power and I’m super pleased with the results of our collaboration.

Shooting in the bowels of the Old Bridewell Police station in Bristol was cool, local legend has it that it’s haunted.” Going on to talk of the eerie new video being the title track of the EP and shot by Neil Collins Films, “It was a lot of fun filming down in the cells, and unlike anything I’ve done before. Thankfully they let us out at the end of the day, but it was close!

Paired with the CD in this exciting release is a bonus DVD, featuring ‘behind the scenes‘ footage, plus 6 music videos from ‘The Hammer Falls. “It was fun watching the studio footage back and picking out what to put in! It really captures the nuts and bolts of the songwriting process, and how some of these songs came together. The DVD acts as a really cool companion piece to the new EP and also the album prior.

Always serving up an engaging live show, the ever crowd pleasing Hutchinson is currently playing his first USA solo shows at the world-renowned NAMM festival in southern California and hits the road again later this year joined by Phil Wilson (Sari Schorr, Bernie Marsden) on drums and Greg Smith (John Verity, Sean Webster) on bass. International tours have encompassed Brazil, Spain, Russia, France and Germany to great acclaim and many festival appearances including Ramblin’ Man Fair, Loverocks and most recently Planet Rock Winter’s End to an emphatic ovation.
