Marking their 10th Anniversary in 2025 – IST IST – have confirmed a special commemorative tour of UK venues this Winter.
With fixtures in favourite haunts of Leeds, Glasgow, London, and Birmingham across late November and December, tickets for the shows will go on sale this Thursday @ 10.00 AM.
Currently in the studio recording their keenly awaited fifth album (of which a handful of songs have already been peppered into the sets on their recent European shows), these shows will be their biggest UK gigs beyond their hometown so far, and an unmissable opportunity to both revel in career high points and get the skinny on their latest works.
Over the years, IST IST have forged a formidable reputation on word of mouth excitement, amassing a dedicated cult following in the process. Operating with a fierce northern DIY work ethic, the band have an ever-growing back catalogue of successful studio and live releases. Self-releasing their entire repertoire through their own Kind Violence Records label, the band’s output has been championed by BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6Music, Radio X, XS Manchester, KINK FM in the Netherlands, The Times and more.
Most recently, fourth record ‘Light A Bigger Fire’ reached 25th in the UK Official Album Charts in 2024, with John Robb praising the record as “glorious yet introspective 21st-century pop music” in a five star review on Louder Than War.
Taking the record out on the road last year, over 8,000 people across thirteen countries turned out in force at iconic venues such as the Paradiso in Amsterdam and New Century Hall in Manchester to support the band in what stands as one of their most successful European tours to date.
Riding this wave into 2025, IST IST returned to Europe for further dates including their SOLD OUT debut Italian shows. Following a string of intimate warm up gigs and festival shows at Kendal Calling, Cologne’s Echoes of Rebellion Festival, Prato’s Off Tune Festival and more, the band will be book-ending the year with a run of unmissable UK shows as they continue to take the songs of ‘Light A Bigger Fire’ and its eagerly awaited follow-up to the masses.
Speaking about what to expect from the upcoming UK Winter tour, IST IST say:
“The four shows in winter will be the biggest UK headliners we’ve played outside of our home city of Manchester, so it’s really exciting for us to be taking the live show into bigger spaces and in front of more people. The European shows, especially Netherlands, are growing and growing so it’s about time the UK dates went in the same direction.
We’re in the studio recording our fifth album as we speak. We’ll be previewing more of the new album tracks at these shows, so there’s a lot of good stuff just round the corner for us.”
Support for the November / December dates will come from special guests: YAANG. Announced as part of illustrious hype list NME 100 where they were heralded as “one of the most exciting bands to come from the North West”, the band also have a growing list of radio supporters including Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq, Emily Pilbeam, Indie Forever, New Music Fix (BBC Radio 6 Music) and John Kennedy (Radio X). With backing too from The Line of Best Fit, DIYmag, Louder than War, and Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon, it has already been quite the year for YAANG.
Formed when Davey Moore (vocals/sampler) met Oliver Duffy (Guitars/vocals) at a rhythmic awareness class at the University of Salford, the line up was later completed by Ben White (Ex-Working Men’s Club) on bass duties – Manchester punk trio YAANG have ever since been steadily building their reputation for furious, high-energy, live shows, powered by the rocket-fuel combo of pulsating drum loops, clangorous guitars and a wicked sense of humour.
