It’s Valentines Weekend coming up and we have the video to Spizzenergi’s current single Valentine’s Day for your enjoyment. It’s a version of the David Bowie song from his album The Next Day and features Tony Visconti (who produced Bowie’s original) on mix duties.

However, the song is not all flowers and romance but instead about a deadly school shooting at a Northern Illinois University back in 2008 on Valentine’s Day! The record’s been getting support on BBC 6Music and a whole heap of other radio stations in recent weeks.

Spizzenergi, whose single Where’s Captain Kirk? was No. 29 in MOJO Magazine‘s “Best Punk Rock Singles of All Time” and included in the NME Writers “100 Best Indie Singles Ever” have been busy of late, with their previous release Christmas In Denmark Street entering the OCC official UK Vinyl Singles Chart at No 13 in December.
