Hit Reset

Having burst into the Australian rock scene with their debut EP ‘Take Your Time’, power rock outfit HIGHVIEW from Canberra are making waves with a fresh, modern and radio ready sound.

Combining new and old ideas through the group’s collaboration, Highview pride themselves on playing the perfect blend of technically impressive, yet accessible rock music with electronic influences taken from the band’s retro gaming passion.
Having already shared the stage with the likes of Voyager, The Stranger, and cinematic rock outfit Starset, and in previous bands the likes of COG, Dead Letter Circus and more, the band are looking to make their mark on an ever growing scene.

Highview have just unleashed a belter of a new single called ‘Reset’ that is taken from their debut EP called ‘Take Your Time’.

‘Reset’ builds from the introduction and explodes into the verse with its blend of heavy rock, electronic samples and uplifting vocal melodies. The song captures a ‘rock radio’ vibe without losing its progressive elements.

The electronic elements of this track can be said to have had influence from both Matt Faulkner’s and Jack Lovell’s retro video game interests outside of the band. Both are avid collectors and have mused that having an arcade game of Pacman on their rider would be the perfect addition to any show!

Matt Faukner (vocals) says this about the single

“The overarching theme for the song is learning to start again. The lyrics focus on learning to let go of things out of our control and learning to control the fear of change and uncertainty. Inspiration for the song stems from difficult decisions and honest reflections, with the lyric writing process helping me to understand why it can be difficult to reset and re-focus ourselves sometimes. In terms of musical influences, I enjoy the more progressive elements of bands such as Dead Letter Circus and Karnivool mixed with straight, heavy rock elements within bands such as Breaking Benjamin and 10 Years.

Highview’s EP ‘Take Your Time’ featuring the track ‘Reset’ is now available to purchase.
