Gyasi sheds a bit more light on the track,”‘You Got the Look’ is an ode to self-confidence and the way we present ourselves when we seek to take on the world. I was listening to The Replacements first record a lot when I wrote this one so musically it’s very high energy. Transformation and self reclamation are recurring themes in my work and this looks at it through a faced paced garage-punk lens. I suppose it’s about the inherent power of glamour and fashion, and I used Jayne Mansfield and Manic Panic as symbols for that power.”
