The heavy prog-metal-trio Vokonis is back with a new single. “Blackened Wings” is released Friday, February 5, 2021 and is the second single leading up to Vokonis new studio album “Odyssey”. A true metal-shuffle, “Blackened Wings” might be the heaviest creation of Vokonis so far.

After the success of the band’s latest, critically acclaimed third album “Grasping Time” (2019), Vokonis immediately went into recording more material. With the goal set to further expand the prog landscape, Vokonis crafted recordings that are more dynamically diverse and forward-thinking than ever before. The result is “Odyssey” – Vokonis fourth studio album. Ranging from full-blown doom to melodically blissful passages, the new album features guest musician Per Wiberg (Opeth, Spiritual Beggars, Kamchatka) on Keyboard.

The first of these new recordings, “Through the Depths” was released in November 2020 as a digital single. The track quickly gained momentum, securing Vokonis position as a band on the rise.

Now, the band shares “Blackened Wings”, the second single leading up to Vokonis fourth studio album “Odyssey”. “Blackened Wings” shines extra bright on this newly awoken heaviness. A true metal-shuffle featuring Jonte on growls and Simons aggressive bark and a huge clean chorus. “Blackened Wings” might be the heaviest creation of Vokonis so far.

“Blackened Wings” is out this Friday on all digital platforms. Vokonis fourth studio album “Odyssey” will be released on The Sign Records on May 7, 2021
