| “This was filmed on a sweltering hot August night at our rehearsal space in Seattle. We each brought a change of outfit and buckets of man sweat, just like a normal rehearsal. We were told to treat the camera like a friend- if that friend was a close talking sociopath with a spitting problem. Despite the heat, we were able to get good and shit faced drunk during the shoot, as we rehearse in the back of a bar, and the bands get happy hour prices. We went through the song about 14 times live, and then Anna (Parkhurst, our video wizard) synced the studio version to the footage later. This is partly because that’s how music videos are made, and partly because each live version we played sucked a lot worse than the last. It was a great time, it was embarrassing, my hair went flat, I’m glad it’s over. Great video though!” – Chaz Matthews, The Cheap Cassettes |
