Label does a showcase in LA

Join Ripple Music – one of the world’s leading record labels for heavy rock, stoner, doom metal and psychedelia – for their first ever Pre-Grammy showcase in Los Angeles next month.

Having set the underground on fire in recent years with its diverse range of world beating bands, limited edition vinyl and genre defining soundtracks, four of Ripple Music’s biggest and best California-based bands will take to the strip for one very special night of heavy.

SALEM’S BEND

Firing an aural assault of ’70s classic rock alongside the influence of melodic heavy-hitters from the realms of desert, doom metal, psych and stoner rock, these guys cut their teeth in various outfits around LA through the years. However, after idly deciding to crawl into a garage one day, three unassuming dudes emerged into sunlight as a mighty hard rock triumvirate skilled in the execution of maximum Sabbath, Priest and Zeppelin worship. For on this day, Salem’s Bend was truly born.

BLACKWÜLF

Offering up a dose of melody and raw power Blackwülf prowl the musical feeding grounds of stoner rock and 70s and 80s pre-thrash metal. With a résumé that includes member stints in bands like San Francisco’s Acid King, The Nads, Tucson’s Naked Prey and Mountain Pig, Blackwülf wander amid doom-cloaked soundscapes and dark sonic forests that provide coverage for their unholy mix of parapsychological anger and aggression, and bluesy head-banging riffs.

ZED

The Valley of the Riff is inhabited and plentiful in its offerings and the beauty of its vast sprawl is that there is room for many. Making their presence known with bigger footprints than most however are San Jose-based earth shakers ZED, whose sole purpose is to rock with no concern for genre or classification. Delivering a barrage of head bobbing and body-shaking blues-driven rock, you’ll find no bell-bottoms, wizard sleeves or hip huggers here.

THE RARE BREED

With the recent revival of 70s rock allowing bands such as Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats to win over audiences around the globe, The Rare Breed have struck upon a catalyst (or more appropriately found the ignition switch) to take on the world full tilt. Heavily influenced by the likes of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, this LA trio are going to be ones to watch in 2017.
