New album from South Wales Metallers
Popular South West metal outfit ‘Huron’ unveil their eagerly awaited new album ‘The Dead Stay Dead’ on Friday 12th February, through all platforms and outlets.
With a cluster of influences pulling from metal titans such as Slayer and Lamb Of God, through to Black Dahlia Murder, Huron merge the fundamental aspects of thrash, progressive and melodic metal to devastating effect. Born back in 2007 and hailing from Plymouth, the riff beasts have undergone a handful of line-ups changes before solidifying with Rohan James (Vocals and Bass), David Parsons (Drums), Rimmy Sinclair (Guitar and Vocals), and Chris Smith (Guitar, Vocals). As 2016 beckons, Huron are set to transcend from underground heroes to major players on the UK metal scene.
With a keen work ethic and an enthralling sound, Huron soon set about touring the UK in 2009 to support their debut album ‘Cheyne Stoking’. The record racked up rave reviews and support from Kerrang! and Rock Sound Magazine, as well as airplay on Bruce Dickinson’s BBC Radio show. Their upward climb continued with the band’s next album ‘Mary Celeste’ which secured further acclaim from Metal Hammer Magazine. By the time Huron dropped 2012’s ‘War Party EP’, the metal crew had a firm following and a huge swell of support. Throughout 2012 the band played a series of prestigious festivals, from Download and Bulldog Bash, to Bloodstock. They also found time to hit the road with Skindred for their full UK tour.After taking time out to work on new material, the southern slayers returned in 2014 to open the main stage at Hammerfest. This year alone, the band have supported Steve Smyth’s One Machine, played the Thrashersaurus Festival and again wooed audiences with a blistering set at the Download Festival. Huron have also just finished work with esteemed producer Justin Hill for their killer new album ‘The Dead Stay Dead’.
Huron’s third album, ‘The Dead Stay Dead’, is undoubtedly their finest work to date. Hurling out eleven cuts of full frontal metal, the record is laden with ferocious riffs and considered phrasing, all aided by genuine creativity and intense intent. The album’s namesake, ‘The Dead Stay Dead’, is a prime example of what gems the album has to offer, with its infusion of shrewd guile and pounding riffage. Its closer ‘Fresh & Thorns’ is a 100% guttural attack of the senses with its stabbing rhythms and ferocious beatings. From start to finish, it’s safe to say that Huron are back and bigger than ever.
