GET BETTER

Brighton alt-punk trio All Better are pleased to announce that they will release their debut album How To Be Alone on 6th May 2022 via Sugar-Free Records.

Lead single ‘Kicking & Screaming’ is released on all good digital service providers on 8th March 2022, and comes complete with an official video filmed on location in Brighton, Hove and Portslade by Adam Tidd at 5th Gen Films. The video stars Naz Voghufi, and was directed and edited by bassist/vocalist Nick Burdett.

Commenting on the track, the band said: “Kicking and Screaming is about striving to grow up but feeling that deep down you can’t or won’t. It dances around themes of addiction, maturing, and being honest with yourself.”

Formed in Brighton 2018, All Better’s blend of high energy punk riffs and infectious alt-rock/pop hooks have so far led them to tour the UK and mainland Europe a number of times, sharing the stage with scene favourites Remo Drive, As It Is, Roam, Spanish Love Songs and Pkew Pkew Pkew.

Releasing two extended plays to date, A Turn at Being Cool (2018) and How It All Worked Out (2019), the punk rock trio are known for their high energy live shows and creative music videos, whilst 2021 saw the release of two new standalone singles ‘Jokers Song’ and ‘The Laughing Stock of Me’.

Produced by Daly George (Boston Manor, Creeper, Nervus, Milk Teeth) at The Ranch Production House in Southampton, forthcoming debut album How to be Alone is a nostalgia-packed record that will make you feel like you’ve rediscovered a long lost love from your punk record collection, whilst throwing in plenty of modern pop influences.

“As soon as I heard the demos for the new record I knew the guys were onto something real special,” said George of working with the band. “Making this record has been one of the greatest moments in the studio for me, and I’m very grateful to have been asked to produce it.”

Track by track, the album breaks down feelings of loss, self worth, heartache and the struggles of becoming an adult, but this is by no means a bleak or dreary record—instead, All Better offer positive affirmations with humility and humour whilst reinforcing the constant reminder to not take life too seriously.

Fun, energetic, and full of hooks, with their long-awaited debut All Better have embarked on a more mature path, beautifully blending the biting grit of modern pop with a big nostalgic nod to all those punk records that made the genre great to begin with.

Further details of the album and new live dates will be revealed over the coming weeks.
