Dublin alternative rock band Fight Likes Apes are delighted to announce that their 2015 self-titled third album will be released on vinyl for the first time ever via Alcopop! Records on St. Patrick’s Day, 17th March 2023.

As a reminder of just how good the album is, the band are streaming lead single ‘Pretty Keen On Centrefolds’ on DSPs—perhaps the very best moment of their riotous third record. Finally being issued on vinyl for the very first time ever, it’s the perfect celebration of this iconic band who, even 6 years after they split up, have managed to sell out the Dublin Olympia in under 24 hours.

Originally released in 2015 on CD/digital, the record will now be available on a limited run of eco vinyl (each colour different), with pre orders on sale now: https://shor.by/FightLikeApes

Commenting on the release, the band said: “We decided to finally release the album on vinyl because it’s way cooler to have a rake of unsold vinyl than a boatload of unsold CDs with no CD player. We were all fairly burned out by the time the third album came out and didn’t really want to be in a band anymore. It turns out it’s harder to not be in a band than it is to be in a band. We miss the validation and shame of other people both liking and being revolted by our music. We’re hoping to hit the big time. Straight to the top. The sky’s the limit.”

Returning for just a couple of goodbye shows in London and Dublin this March—with Dublin already sold out—Fight Like Apes are, quite simply, one of Dublin’s finest ever live bands. Acerbic and exotic, individual and evocative, Fight Like Apes have toured the UK with The Von Bondies, The Ting Tings, New Found Glory, The Prodigy and Kasabian and have played stacks of Irish and European festivals throughout their career.

They have appeared on several television shows in Ireland, including Tubridy Tonight, WeTV, The View, Other Voices and The Cafe. They have also had some success in Asia, where they have been signed up by Sony Music Entertainment Japan for an album release on that continent in April 2009.

The band have been nominated for five Meteor Music Awards, the Choice Music Prize, the UK Festival Awards Best Breakthrough Artist, and have three top 3 charting albums, one of them named the Best Album of the Decade by Phantom FM.

Fight Like Apes were named the fourth best Irish musical act of their generation by The Irish Times in 2009.

Fight Like Apes is released on vinyl for the first time on 17th March 2023
