Critically acclaimed for their cinematic, stadium-ready post-punk intensity, Yorkshire trio Feral Family return with their tempestuous new single, The River.
Branded as “Gallagher-style swagger with the freshness of Fontaines D.C.” by Luminous Dash, the band continue to build global recognition with their emotionally charged indie-rock sound. Tinnitist describes their music as “a swaggering, wide-screen soundtrack to the best days of your life.”
Released independently on April 17, 2026, The River arrives just weeks after their second EP “…So Far Behind”, showcasing the band’s relentless momentum. Drawing comparisons to Interpol, Editors, and Soundgarden, Feral Family channel dark musical energy with emotionally raw lyricism.
Frontman Jamie Lowe explains:
“The River is a reflection on the pain and helplessness of loving someone who is very close to you but emotionally out of reach.”
2026 is already shaping up to be a landmark year. Currently contending in Kerrang! Radio’s ’The Deal’, for the chance to play Download Festival and secure a recording deal with Marshall Records, the band also recently placed Top 5 in a nationwide competition to support Only The Poets at Brixton Academy. Their music has featured on The Independent’s “Now Hear This” playlist, E4’s Made in Chelsea, and has received airplay on iconic US station KEXP. They have also earned their second consecutive nomination for Radio Wigwam’s Indie Artist of the Year.
Support from BBC Introducing, Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 Music), and John Kennedy (Radio X) further cements their growing reputation.
