Aussies share their first new track

One of Australia’s finest new alternative rock bands FIGURES are set to release their self-titled digital debut EP on 24th February 2017.

Figures is an EP comprised of four intense tracks featuring a surplus of complex arrangements, melodic passages and crushing riffs. FIGURES have the presence of a well-oiled machine, being experienced at their craft but fairly new on the scene in their current incarnation.

The band from Melbourne are dead set on keeping their momentum high with this EP, which combines classic ‘90s heavy rock with a dark edge. Figures sways in the direction of modern prog at various points, where ambient melodies and soaring vocals are at the forefront.

The band say:
“We’re all really influenced by early 90’s alt rock, metal and progressive rock. We try to reflect these influences and incorporate those heavy driving elements while still keeping the music as fresh and new as we can.”

FIGURES have recently completed a tour across Victoria, Australia with Twelve Foot Ninja, and had memorable appearances at Progfest Australia and a spectacular showing at MUSEXPO’s Global Rock Summit in Los Angeles, California where they performed the aforementioned single.

Vocalist Mark Tronson says of ‘Filter’:
“’Filter’ is about a sort of mass neglect that the first world current generation has on much larger, potentially dangerous issues. We hear things and read things, but ultimately see them as problems for someone else to deal with, as we’re too busy consumed by our own day-to-day superficial dramas.”

FIGURES might not be known to many outside of Australia, but the band’s mission is to change that and leave a mark with their music.

Figures will be available for digital download on 24th February via iTunes.
