New Jersey’s symphonic metal band Everdawn return with their new studio album, titled “Kali”, and set for release on January 15, 2027, via Frontiers Music Srl.
To give a taste of the upcoming release, the band unveil today the first single and official video, “Illusionist”, available below.
The band commented on the song, by saying: “Illusionist” portrays a dark reflection on the destructive nature of boundless ambition, where pursuit of power, recognition, and success erases the boundaries between right and wrong. Behind an illusion of greatness lies a dangerous truth: when success becomes an obsession and deception triumphs the morality, even human’s wellbeing or even life can become a price worth paying. But no illusion lasts forever: every ambition comes with a revelation and reckoning, exposing the darkness behind the glory.”

Everdawn return with “Kali”, a new album that takes their signature symphonic and progressive metal sound to new heights, combining powerful melodies, cinematic arrangements and intricate musicianship.
The band commented: “Our third album, “Kali”, takes listeners on a journey through creation, destruction, and the darker side of existence. It explores the fragile nature of life, the mysteries of the universe, and the forces that shape the human soul. From Shiva’s eternal dance to the end of the universe, we explore ancient myths, forbidden desires, betrayal, and the search for spiritual awakening. Throughout these stories, beauty and destruction often go hand in hand, reminding us how closely creation and devastation are connected.”
“At its core, the album is about the struggles we all face: finding the strength to overcome adversity, the courage to see through lies and deception, and the determination to stand back up when life pushes us down. But beyond the battles we fight, there is a bigger question: what really lasts when everything else is gone?”, they added. “Because even the things that seem eternal are not beyond destruction. No power lasts forever, no kingdom is untouchable, and even the stars are destined to fade away.”
Driven by dynamic guitar work, rich keyboard textures and memorable hooks, “Kali” blends the band’s symphonic roots with a more progressive approach. Alina Gavrilenko’s expressive vocals bring both power and emotion to the songs, complemented by Boris Zaks’ atmospheric keyboards, Richard Fischer’s guitars and Dan Prestup’s precise drumming. Special guest Mike LePond (Symphony X) also contributes bass to the album.
Mixed and mastered by acclaimed producer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Epica, Evergrey), “Kali” showcases Everdawn’s ability to balance technical sophistication with accessible melodies, appealing to fans of both symphonic and progressive metal.
Originally formed in New Jersey in 2014 under the name Midnight Eternal, the band released their self-titled debut before embarking on tours across North America and Europe alongside Queensrÿche and Therion. Following lineup changes and the arrival of vocalist Alina Gavrilenko, the band adopted the name Everdawn, marking a new chapter in their musical journey.
Their second album, “Cleopatra”, followed in 2021, accompanied by a European tour supporting Michael Schenker. In December 2023, Everdawn released “Venera” through Frontiers Music Srl, further establishing their distinctive blend of symphonic and progressive metal.
With “Kali”, Everdawn continue to build on that foundation, delivering an ambitious new chapter in their evolving sound.
