Estrella ask for your help to knock crap pop music out of the top 40
Remember the days when the top 40 was full of great songs? So do Estrella, which is why the Aberdeen outfit are asking for your help to get their new release into the top 40.
The band release their new “Here I Am” single on Monday, and are asking fans to help them with their new social media campaign.
Guitarist Luke Gunn told MVM what was required: “We are currently running an online campaign using the services of a company called Thunderclap,” explained. “The purpose of this is to create an online flashmob with the use of a particular social media message that is posted on a certain day and time (24 November at 6pm).
“The message we’re promoting on this occasion is the release of our first new single, “Here I Am” from Estrella’s second studio album. With enough support we hope this will help towards the bands ultimate goal of a UK Top 40 Chart position for an unsigned rock act.”
“Here I Am” is a former Classic Rock Magazine track of the week, and if you remember the days Bon Jovi were any good (which come to think of it was about the last time the charts had anything good in…..) then get on board.
The energetic four piece – a trio of brothers Paul (Vocals), Luke (Lead Guitar) and Nathan (Bass) Gunn plus Leo McPherson (Drums) – have supported the likes of USA chart topper Robin Beck, The Answer, House of Lords, H.E.A.T, Furyon and many more. A mark of their growing stature, they will support LA Guns frontman, Phil Lewis, next year too.
Creating a buzz within the rock festival communities and a reputation for putting on an excellent live show, that plays on a fictional “sibling rivalry”, they’ve played Hard Rock Hell (HRH) VI, HRH AOR, HRH Ibiza, Kelso Bike Fest and Scotland’s Les-Fest (now Wildfire Festival.)
Details on how to help are here – and just do it to stop Simon Cowell getting any richer.
The track is out on Monday. You can buy it on iTunes.
If you want to listen to it, then being the all round nice guys they are, Estrella have let us have this link.
