DON’T GIVE UP

Published:

Multi-instrumentalist, Jørgen Munkeby, front man of Norway’s genre-defying Shining, is not one for sitting still; his unstoppable creative energy is vivacious, restless and at the forefront of his existence.

With new single, “IDGAF“, Jørgen lays bare lockdown-induced fantasies about fighting cops and doing cocaine, all whilst perfecting the noble art of not giving a fuck.

Munkeby comments; “My whole life has been about not giving a fuck – or mores specifically not giving an F about what other people think I should or should not be doing musically.

And not giving a fuck is pretty damn healthy from time to time. As we’re heading into the opening of society again, I’m hoping we’ll see a new Roaring 20’s, so I wanted to write a song that fits this vibe. To help usher it in, so to speak. Let’s all give a bit less fuck and have a bit more fun, shall we?”

IDGAF” continues the musical direction the band surprised fans with on their most recent studio album Animal (2018). A controversial record amongst fans upon release, it’s title-track has now surpassed anything that came before it, scooping up more than 8 million streams on Spotify alone.

Self-produced & recorded by Munkeby, mastered by Chris Gehringer (Twenty One Pilots, Machine Gun Kelly, Yungblud, Rhianna), “IDGAF“, sees Shining continue their relentless quest for new musical adventures, and, ultimately: WORLD ROCK DOMINATION.

An aggressive fearlessness has been consistent throughout Shining‘s career. Who can forget, back in 2015, when the band played a live show on top of Trolltunga? – a 800 meters high mountain cliff jutting out above certain death…

Shining‘s latest studio album, Animal, is available now, HERE.
