DEAD GOOD

Published:

Modern rock alchemists Dead Girls Academy have today announced a headline UK and European tour for this summer, bringing their own brand of blistering rock and roll to the UK and EU for the first time headlining here in over a year.  The tour follows on from a wildly successful EU rampage with P.O.D. and Alien Ant Farm during winter 2019.

DGA will also be releasing new music this year and are excited to reveal new single ‘This Is War‘, which follows the band’s successful debut album ‘Alchemy’ which was released late 2018 and has over 4.2 million streams to date and saw DGA tour with the likes of Issues, Motionless in White, Badflower and Falling in Reverse along with a stint on 2017 Vans Warped Tour.

Frontman Michael Orlando comments;

“I am beyond excited to return to the UK & EU for our second headlining tour! I absolutely love the energy out there! We will be bringing our new live show featuring a bunch of new songs; including our new Single ‘This Is War’ I cannot thank our fans enough for their continued support. I know this tour will be a massive success thanks to them, see you all in May! ”

Orlando, known for earning his musical stripes as the leader of horror-based act Vampires Everywhere is no stranger to challenge.  A guy who grew up in post Motley Crue-era Los Angeles started a band, got a record deal, toured and toured until tragedy struck in the form of a highway bus accident.  Life as he knew it was ruined and Michael Orlando almost died, in fact he DID die briefly.

Throughout three gruelling years of reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation, Michael’s one source of inspiration was that dream of a second chance and just as any institution must reform to remain relevant, the new coming of Michael Orlando reflects his penchant for pushing the envelope and keeping rock and roll blistering.  Dead Girls Academy was born.

“I’ve always been on the darker side of rock & roll and the name fits the sound and overall image. It’s a double metaphor – one referring to the feeling of death inside yourself, the second mirroring departed relationships.  All congregated under one institution, myself.” – comments Michael Orlando
