The melodic rock/AOR project Cry Of Dawn will release a new album entitled ‘Anthropocene’ on 19th May via Frontiers. Fronted by go-to Swedish lead vocalist Göran Edman, a self-titled debut album had been well received back in 2016, but this brand new effort sees the talented singer sounding positively inspired.
Partnered with compatriot Tommy Denander, whose songwriting, production and guitar skills have been heard on records by numerous musical icons over the years, the duo have crafted a classic sounding record that recalls the glory years of the AOR genre, with Edman’s enthusiasm for this musical style shining through. A first single and video from the album for the song ‘Devil’s Highway’ is available now.
Edman has worked in numerous genres since making his recording debut in 1984, including neo-classical metal and progressive rock, as well as AOR. His vocal stylings can be heard on records by John Norum, Yngwie Malmsteen, Brazen Abbot and Glory, among others.
