The Hot Damn! make their highly-anticipated return with gutsy new single, ‘I Didn’t Like You Anyway‘, out on all streaming platforms on 3rd December.

Formed out of the ashes of The Amorettes and Tequila Mockingbyrd, The Hot Damn! boasts the talents of Gill Montgomery (The Amorettes), Josie O’Toole (Tequila Mockingbyrd), Laurie Buchanan (Aaron Buchanan and the Cult Classics) and Lzi Hayes (New Device/Sophie Lloyd band). Channeling the angsty energy of 90s icons such as Letters To Cleo and Veruca Salt, ‘I Didn’t Like You Anyway’ is about a rude awakening versus a churlish (but delicious) gut reaction to being dumped, and is set to be your new favourite break up anthem.

Speaking of the track, Gill Montgomery (guitar and vocals) says:
“It’s a love song about manipulation, anger, spite and finally acceptance. Inspired by, I guess, coming to terms with the breakdown of a relationship and finding solace in the fact that actually, it’s going to be okay because you didn’t actually fancy them in the first place. There is no bones about the fact that it is a fun take on poetic hindsight.

Love songs are out, Like songs are in! They don’t have to be about the gooey stuff. It can just be about the lukewarm feelings too. Everyone has been dumped at some point and whether that’s a relationship, friendship, sacked at work…. It’s a bit of a cheeky flip the bird to whoever has pissed you off. Its tailor-made to suit your own pissed off journey.”

Championed by Planet Rock and BBC Introducing, these four feisty ladies are no stranger to the music scene, and have announced their first UK tour as special guests to blues-rockers The Dust Coda (Earache Records), including dates at London’s Boston Music Room, Birmingham’s Dead Wax and Manchester’s iconic The Deaf Institute.
